Does anyone know the best time to buy produce at the farmer's market in Charlotte Amalie? I've heard that people show up as early as 4am!
Are there some good deals/selection there?

Okay, well if no one knows about the downtown farmer's market...where does everyone get their produce? Roadside stands? Grocery store? I'm just looking for the best price/quality.

There was a vendor set up along the harbor.....think it was across the way from the Green House or close to that vicinity.
Is it still there? Hows the produce and pricing?
I used to see it when I'd fly from STX to STT once per week a couple yrs ago for business while walking back to the Sea plane.
The bananas and tomatoes always looked yummy, but I never stopped.

Cost U Less improved their produce section when they remodeled/expanded a couple of years ago.

If you would like to grow some heirloom veggies of your own, you could contact The Earth Store (www.theearthstore.com) - they're not always on island (STX), but they will find you what you need and give you great info on container growing off of your balcony. Their website looks like ... well ... as web designers they suck - but they know their stuff...you just have to tell them what you want and they will work with you.
