I see huge smoke and I am getting ash all inside my house. Its about 2-3 miles away it seems. No one would be stupid enough to be burning right now I hope - in this drought. Yikes.

It's over a small ridge so I can't see what's happening but my side of the ridge is completely dry brush. Yikes

Did you call fire dept. to report?
I know that no burning permits are being issued due to our severe drought conditions.

Called 911 and they're aware. Looks like it's going down now but still smells like campfire in my house. That was terrifying. This is a wood house too. The wind has really picked up thou which makes me worry. Hopefully it's totally out soon. I don't think it could have been from a house where it was but if it was I hope they get a HIGE fine. Absolutely dangerous to be burning right now.

A wood house?
Girl, I hope it's solidly built and that you have renters insurance!

Well built and lucky location at the time of storm.
I remember seeing rows of homes destroyed and then in the middle of it all, one lucky, lonely home, untouched.
