I am moving to St. Thomas in October I love to fish I wish wondering where I would get a fishing license, how much. and what kind of fish you catch? Also was wondering if there is a place you can go online to search for jobs or not? My wife is a travel nurse so I might get a job or just lay around on the beach all day haven't decided that one yet so any input on these questions would help thanks.

You will only need a fishing license if you are fishing in the National Park waters (Mangrove Lagoon area, etc.). Other places you won't need one. You can catch anything from Tarpon to Bonefish, 'Cudas to Sharks and a whole lot sort of others. Last time I got one, the license was obtained at one of the offices on the second floor at the airport. This was last year and did not get to use it anyway. The link I have for VI fishing regs no longer exists... sorry..... wish I could help you more.

What kind of fishing will you be doing? Fly? Spin? Baitcasting? From the beach? Wading? From a kayak?

Good luck!

Just make sure you don't wander into BVI waters. 😀

Thanks for the input can you fish right off the beach or is there designated areas where you have to go. Also do you know where you can go online and look for jobs. My buddy wants to come down there with us but he wont buy a plane ticket until he can find a job. He is a heavy equipment operator so if there is any input on that also that would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Clutch: Call Fish and Wildlife at 340-775-6762 or visit them in Red Hook when you get here. They will be able to steer you in the right direction about fishing regulations.
