VI Tourism is sponsoring a Happy Hour!
Dallas TX:
Hotel ZaZa
March 4th
6:00PM to 8:30PM
The U.S. Virgin Island Department of Tourism is hosting a happy hour at Hotel ZaZa’s Urban Oasis lounge (2332 Leonard Street) between 6 and 8:30PM. The event will feature Caribbean-inspired cuisine, specialty rum cocktails and live music and meet-and-mingle with representatives from the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism.

Thanks for the info. Was this a press release somewhere? Where did you get the info? I just want to make sure it is a consumer event before telling people about it. It sounds more like an industry event. I can email the address you gave, but assume it will take a while to get a response. Thanks!

I received a flyer/via fax in our office.
Travel Agency -
I will double check tomorrow to see if this event was just for travel agents, meeting planners or for the public.
It was said on the fax that limit two people per agency - so I thought it was for people in the Travel Industry, but I could be wrong.

Yes it was a press release. Are you in Dallas? What happened to being a real estate agent?
This event is open to all! I wouldn't have posted if it was just for some!

Checking on the information/invite, it says Mini Trade Show from 6-7:00p.m. with Cocktails 7:00-8:30p.m.
Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Hotel Zaza's Urban Oasis on 2332 Leonard Street. (www.hotelzaza.com)
Usually when it says Trade show, in the past - this means it is for people in the travel industry.
It had requested RSVP - to Jacqueline Hodge -Jackson.

Thinking about going as doesn't look like I can get down there next week - so something in common with VI might be the next best thing I can have for now? Beside being on this message board all of the time.

Mine is completely different than yours....no mention of a trade show with even different times and no RSVP required. Even my email contact is different than yours.
I figured it was co sponsored by Cruzn Rum since it will be rum drinks and island fare!
No, not in Dallas in the islands!
If I were in Dallas you could find me there!

Tippi - this is strange as it is for the same night, same place and time is ame 6:00p.m. to 8:30p.m.
Maybe I do have to go just to see what's all about.......interesting.
Lucky you ( I think you are on STT, right?and Juanita is in STX)

Yes, as this is the only way I can get close to anything has to do with VI at the moment.
How is your exercise /fitness classes going??????
How many people do you have now?
How much is the classes?
Am and will get down there in April/May - especially for Carnival.

I found it odd that Tourism had enough money to sponsor a happy hour for the city of Dallas. 🙂

Juanita - sorry for the delay in providing the update.
Just returned home from taking a road trip with my grand babies to Fla. for their Spring Break.
Yes, I did go to the Happy Hour - there were only two hotel representatives there.
One for Wyndham and other for Bolongo.
American Airlines - or rather American Eagle representatives were there.
Many media related guests were there.
Don't think there were too many industry related guests.
Hotel Zaza - was good, I call it trendy hotel.
Open bar - with a lots of Appetizers.
Was very disappointed on the turn out -
But was glad that I went - as I did meet some very interesting people - at the end.
Not sure if it is OK to disclose, so I will leave it as is.
There were so many ways this could have turned out so much better, but maybe there were a reason for them to host this function here in Big D.............
Looking forward to my return to STT at the end of April - nothing like being there in person, right?
