Help please!

My husband has to fly over to STX from STJ on Monday for a job interview. He will need to stay one night and is asking me to look for a hotel near the airport. Only problem, we both know nothing about STX.

Can anyone give me a couple of suggestions.

Thanks.

Kelly

....I know someone out there will feel compelled to correct me for generalizing on the previous post so I will be more specific. He will fly from STT to STX on Monday.

Thanks.

Kelly, there really isn't much out near the airport. Where will his interview take place? He might do better to try and find someplace close to that.

There are not any hotels near the airport on STX. There is a horse track and a dump. The nearest will probably be either in Fredricksted or Christiansted. He can easily catch a taxi to either.I dont know witch hotel to suggest because they all differ in price and quality.Good luck on the new job.

Thanks for the information. At least it kind of helps me to know where to start looking.

We don't know where the interview actually is. The person who is meeting him said he would just pick him up for the day and show him around. I think I'll suggest to him that he contact them for ideas on where to stay.

If it turns out they will be centrally located, would you suggest keeping toward the Fredricksted area or Christiansted? I know past messages on here refer to the different areas but those are normally related to living long-term or vacations.

Thanks.

Try the King Christian Hotel in Christiansted.

But, is he really flying into the airport or taking the seaplane? There are plenty in Christiansted where the plane comes in.

Actually, when I originally posted this he told me he was taking the seaplane. He has since changed it to a flight to the airport. I'm about ready to tell him to figure it out by himself! He asked me to take care of it but he's the one there and I'm in Texas right now.

Too funny. He needs to find out where his interview is and get a place close by there. Or just check into one in Christiansted. The Caravelle comes to mind as a good one.

He should definitely take the seaplane, which lands about a block from the center of Christiansted. There are numerous flights during the day and he will have several decent hotels to choose from (Caravelle is my favorite) that are all a short walk from the "airport".

I love the small plane and the short ride that Seaborne Airlines offers - very smooth flights and great view.

I too, can recommend the Caravelle; and as Joanne said, it is just a short walk down the boardwalk from the seaplane dock. The ride on the seaplane is a special attraction in itself and is definately worth taking. The views you can see from there are great and the trip only takes 15 to 20 min. Your husband will enjoy it!
