Innovative DSL problem STT; can anyone advise me?

After suffering expensive S L O W service and long outages with Choice wireless DSL, I switched to Innovative.

After much ado I got my home network set up.

Fine. Dandy. Zippy.

But, I just tried to send an email to 2 family members and shortly after I hit "send" I got a message saying that it was blocked from delivery. The popup message directed me to a specific SpamCop page. Naturally, this URL was not clickable in the error message and had to be painstakingly hand-copied into a browser.

Anyway, I went to the page and have no idea what it means or what to do about it. It's after hours for tech support.

The IP address of the sender (me) is blacklisted as a spammer. Now, I am sadly over my head in this arena, but since the only thing that has changed is my internet provider, does this mean that it didn't like INNOVATIVE's IP address?? What can I do about this? Have any other of you Innovative DSL customers experienced this? How do I fix it?

What is the last part of the address you were sending TO? For example aol.com, etc. I would think there's nothing you can do at your end but your family members would have to contact their internet provider to have powernet removed from their spam list. It sounds like they blocked the whole IP, instead of the one spammer using powernet. That is, if I'm reading your message correctly.

If you would PM me the URL, I would be happy to assist you.

There is a process with Spamcop to remove your IP address from their systems.

Trade, I tried to several addresses. One RoadRunner, one sbc, and one to Innovative's tech support. Same SpamCop message for all. No go.

Darrin, I sent you a PM.

I just got off the phone with Innovative's tech support and their initial response was that they don't provide support for Mozilla Thunderbird, which is my email program. I'm no techie but I don't see how this is a Thunderbird-specific issue. It is a sender IP address issue and that IP address belongs to Innovative.

On the other hand, why don't other Innovative users have this problem? Maybe it is related to Thunderbird after all. Hope not. I don't want to go back to Outlook Express.

If you have not solved this problem yet, and are stuck without email.....you can set up a webmail account wi. gmail or yahoo or a similar service. For many people Webmail is a lot more convenient and if you are traveling it keeps all your mail in a spot where you can access it
wherever you are..

Sloop, yes, until this gets straightened out I've resorted to sending my email via webmail.

Darrin, I forgot to send the error message/spamcop link in my first PM to you so I'm sending you another.

I also tried sending mail by Outlook Express and received the same error message.

Sloop, I just sent you the error message via PM. I don't have your email address.
