HaHaHa ROTFLMAO!
That's scheduled for right after they offer High Speed Cable Internet access.
As soon as they locate Prosser's stash of Rolex watches to use to finance the improvements.

Innovative's STX system is currently 450 mhz (550Mhz on STT). This is technology from the mid 1980's. HD takes additional band width. Someday when their system is upgraded you might get a few HD channels, but unless Innovative goes to 900 mhz you will never see 60+ HD channeals as is the norm in major metro areas stateside.

Assuming you have a location where you can see the satellites and you also have the room to install onw or two four foot dishes.

Since we have been trying for a month now to get a cable box for the expanded band of basic cable, because they changed their programing to require it I wouldn't hold your breath. They now require the box for expanded basic but they don't have any boxes. You have to call in the morning ask about the boxes then drive to Tutu and wait in line and hope they don't run out. They get them in when people cancel their cable. They apparently don't have a budget to add additional boxes even though they are now required. Of course of the few days that we have been off on a week day, like today, they don't have any boxes.

I have to say that the phone-based customer service I've received from Innovative has been so-so (always nice on the phone but the end result not always to standard) but in several face-to-face exchanges I have come away very happy and impressed with results from Innovative.

I do suspect I may end up leaving their cable TV service in a month or two when I look to get a HD setup from Dish I believe.

Sounds like a STT problem. When I went in to Innovative's office on STX I had no problem getting a replacement for my box which had failed and I saw several people exchange their analog boxes for digital units.

Jim

PS Innovative doesn't have new management. It is being run by a trustee. The sale was supposed to have taken place in June, but was canceled. The Judge has told the trustee to get it done by year end.

we have the digital box from a few years back and i wanted the newest version like we have at both my jobs and they told me they were out of them,so once they're done replacing all of the old analog boxes then we can probally trade in our old digital for the newest, they had a big ad in the paper the other day about this.

HD??? I was in the Innovative office last week and asked about HBO On-Demand. The rep didn't know what I was talking about. She first looked at me like I was stupid and told me Innovative DID offer that - "HBO is $14 a month". I guess she figured that since I could get HBO 24 hours a day... it was "on demand"!

Innovative update. Well we called back around 9:00 yesterday and low and behold they had some boxes. So I went in to get one. I was greeted at the door, well the desk inside the door by a less than enthusiastic West Indian lad. I gave him my best good morning explained that I needed a cable box and he pointed me into an office behind him to the left. I enter the room, read the directions for signing in. Even though the only two people in the room are me and the receptionist. I take my seat as instructed, she reads my name and again asks me what I need. I explain that I am there to upgrade to expanded basic and need a cable box. She goes in the back checks to see if anyone is available to help me. Comes back and takes me to cubicle number four. I again use my best good morning and get a grumble back. Then I hand the email from my landlord, my account number, ID etc to the lady. She looks at me over her glasses, pulls up the account on the screen, sighs and says, you need an original notarized letter from your landlord to get the new box. I kindly explain that my landlord is in North Carolina for the whole summer, she has called in and authorized the addition of the box and gave the customer service rep my name and information to allow me to pay for the box and the remote. She sighs again, your landlord was told to send a notarized letter. "Only the supervisor can override the requirement for a notarized original letter. The supervisor is in a meeting, leave me a copy of your ID, your social security number and the email letter and I will see if they will override the requirement and call you back." Well we still have no box. So we can watch the Chicago news, the New York News QVC channel, tourist TV, Telemondo, and four different preachers at any given time.

Non-Innovative = non-HD
Could be a long, long, long, wait .
Probably around the time TV is virtual reality, and in 4D with smell-o-vision powered by wireless electricity 😛

Other than technology, installation, billing, and customer service, Innovative is on the cutting edge.

Anyone see the Avis today? Innovative made their public announcement for rate increases and at the bottom had a line that said they are looking into DVR and HDTV services which they would like to implement sometime in 2009. LOL yeah right, not holding my breath for that! The cable lines here are really a mess, I've lived in places where the lines couldn't deliver standard digital cable and we had tons of in line amps around the property just to have some semblance of a working product.

Hey, at least its on their radar though!

No doubt they threw in the little blurb about HD in 2009 to get the rate increases. I wouldn't hold my breath unless some big stateside company came in & revamped the whole mess.
