I've had it since earlier this year & have found it to be fairly reliable, although it'll occasionally get wonky during peak evening hours. Overall, quite pleased with the service - I'd just like them to bump their speeds up a lot more:-(.

I'm on their highest residential offering: 5Mbps

Cool. Good to hear a good review for innovative. Good to see them moving forward. BBVI remains a beast with the there service.

BBVI limits concurrent connections, so Torrents are out (from what I heard) this could be a big negative depending on your intended use.

That is not true, BBVI allows torrenting.
That being said, torrenting is not a good idea....many have imbedded viruses...planted there by the music and movie companies.
It is smarter to buy / rent the disks / pay Netflix/Hulu.

I do not even know what torrenting is, much less how to do it.

These days it is just as easy to look things up as it is to declare ignorance of a subject.

bit torrent.

I wouldn't recommend it for those that don't know much about computers/software.

Torrent distribution is for much more than movies/music, I general get software this way & share code with others in a similar way.

a tool is a tool, torrent is a very efficient way to have a piece of software distributed and many games are now distributing software (updates etc) via torrent

Let me admonish myself for the earlier hear-say, I have just gotten onboard with BBVI and am happy so far, I have not experienced any service issues nor have any complaint; my previous statement was based on comments from a (now questionable) alternate source

Torrents are files that are uploaded by other users that you can download for free. They may be ebooks, music, movies, pdf's, anything. The problem is that sometimes users can be jerks, and imbed viruses or malware. If you are moderately good with computers they are easy to spot and safe to use.

If you are a novice, its best just to buy whatever you're looking for.

This is a generalization, of course.

No worries bud, I've always enjoyed your posts!

Does anyone know if EVO is ready in Mahogany Run condos? I gave up after innovative disconnected me the fourth time.

No clue but I don't envy you living at Mahogany Run. I have many friends who have lived and do live there and it's a lovely community but you must have more power outages up there than most other parts of St Thomas combined and really HAVE to have your own generator to stay cool, calm and sober!

Heh. I got ahold of a customer service rep. He said it was supposed to be here by last July. Now he doesn't know. Definitely by the end of this year. Or the beginning of next year. Or next summer, if it ever comes at all. I graciously told him thank you, and promptly heard a click. Apparently we were done talking.

What does your condo association say?
Many condo associations only allow access to certain internet connections/providers.
Maybe check with them to see what your options are. Sorry it's been so frustrating.

I want BBVI like a tan, but having some issues with getting the owners to sign consent to allow BBVI to do any modifications...
