Hello everyone, I just want to say thank you for all of the very helpful feedback you have made my stress level go down a bit. Another question I had was about going to the market. I have been doing a lot of reading on St. John and came a cross a few markets but I had read in another post that STT was a good place to stock up on things. I was just wondering if any of you have made the trip with no car and just how difficult (and annoying) it was? I figure I can bring a empty back pack with me then carry a bag. Will the ferry charge me for a bag of grocery's or is that just for luggage?

Thank so much everyone I can't wait to get t the Island, not too much longer!

Em

You can take the ferry to STT and the dollar ride bus to Kmart/Plaza xtra for some grocery shopping if you want. Carrying it back would depend on your stamina and amount of stuff.
You could also visit cost-u-less but buying in bulk there is the key to savings so you would have to get a cab back to RH if you really stock up.
Networking in STJ and getting together with someone who is doing a car ferry run is not uncommon every once in a while.
Don't overthink the food and supply problem too much - it will work out!! - find a place to live and a job and just go from there.

Thank you so much. I already have a job and place to live so I'm just trying to figure out all the details!

Buy one of those folding wire baskets on wheels or take a carryon type suitcase, to help with the carrying. We take an empty suitcase when we go to stj for the week from stx. We pick up groceries and nessecities and then have a empty suitcase for any junk we buy there.
