Hello all,

just wanted to say THANK YOU to AA (airline) for making pet shipping so smooth. they don't tell you this over the phone so I spent a whole month tormented over how to handle my pets and if I should just find new homes for them. In the end i decided to chance it with my 80lbs doberman and just let them turn us away at the airport in orlando. I ended up sending our male dobbie to my sister in ATL (more on that in a minute) anywho, we got to the airport with dog in kennel, 3 infants 8 suitcases, and 1 teenager, all set for an issue with my dog, but instead, I was asked how much she weighted, she was tagged, bagged, inspected by customs and put on the plane. My baby flew all the way into STX on all the planes we did. WOW! and only for $100 bucks!!!

Now for my new issue: I am trying to get my 2nd dobbie from ATL since he is too much responsiblity for my sis and now that I know what is involved, I am looking for a responsible dog lover who would be willing to bring my dog over via AA from Atlanta to St. Croix as additional luggage. I will pay for all of the transportation costs for my dog, and will also pay an additional $100 towards this person's ticket to cover the cost of helping.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW WILL BE FLYING OUT OF ATL IN JULY 07, It would be so greatly appreciated you have no idea.....

Is it a lot more expensive just to send the dog on the plane by itself? Have you checked that?

You might ask on the vacation board if someone's coming down at that time if you have no luck here.

it really is strange but if the dog flys alone, then must go as cargo, which does not land in STX only PR & STT so the cost is over 600 to go alone but based on weight if flying as luggage with a passenger,

My dog is flying alone on Continental (god bless air conditioned cargo holds) He is leaving Baltimore through Houston and then Puerto Rico. He will take Cape Air with us from PR to STX. It will only end up being like $280. He is about 45-50lbs. Hope this helps!
