Is it possible in the Virgin Islands? If so, does anyone know how? Thanks in advance! My husband is a fisherman and really wants his own boat here (STJ) but we can't afford to buy one. It's very very important to him, so any direction is so appreciated.

Do you want to lease something long term or just do full day fishing charters? There are charter companies that will, once they know you have the skills, rent on a daily basis bare boats (i.e. no captain). I have a few names let me know if that is what you are looking for and I can send you some.

There are quite a few places n STT that rent boatsand there are Marina's that you can inqiure at for what you are lookng for here.
You can also check out the classified ads in Daily news and the Island Trader as well as on line.

Thanks so much everyone. I didn't really word the question right...he is a captain and we want to have a boat we can use daily. I'm not sure one can lease a boat like a car. I thought it was possible, but I think financing would be our only option unless
We find someone with a boat that they don't use that will give us a monthly rate. Thanks for the help!' Sorry the question is a little disorganized

Start with American Yacht Harbor and ask around. Plenty of marinas on the east end of St Thomas. Just check with the office at AYH. I am sure they can steer you on the right direction. You never know.

You might consider getting a partner or partners in buying a boat. Spreading around the cost makes it more affordable.
