Hello there and thank you so much for writing. Yes, the room is open for all of August. Some folks have written, but I have no comittments yet.

If you could please send me an email at Affiliationllc@aol.com, maybe you could pick out some time, and I will block it off, and find out if there is anything I can do to help before you arrive. Will also send pictures and directions.

Thanks again, and how exciting about the move!

Warmly,

Dan g.

I'm sorry to bombard the board with so many updates, but as I feel so strongly in PMV's before moving, I am trying to keep information about the "PMV Room" up to date.

As of today, all of July is closed out. I believe some folks had asked about that month, but now it is officially no longer available. Please refer to other updates (the most recent) and if this room would be of assistance to you in finding a home, apartment or getting the flavor of living here, there are other weeks open during the summer.

All of November is open, and December on is open, though the rate does go up to $45 per day, everything included, as things are generally so high at that point.

Thanks again for all, and to those of you wonderful people who have passed on from a visit here to living on the island, I hope all is well. If in any way you think I may still be of assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Best wishes to all,

Dan

Hello there again. Thank you so much for writing to me. It seems that for movers, we are starting to get a nice little network set up to support people.

For those that don't know, ONIKA is considering doing much the same as I am, but for folks who are heading to STT. So many people have asked this very question, that I am glad there may now be an answer to provide people.

I really would like to thank everyone for their support as well. This was one of those ideas in terms of "there has to be an easier way", and it does seem to be working.

I would also like to thank people whom have stayed with me. You all have been such interesting people, and it is a great feeling to be able to answer questions, rather than running around like I did initially. As you all in your time move here (or not in some cases, which is still good as it is based on real information), I look forward to seeing you again, this time as a friend returning to the island.

Warm regards and many thanks again to all,

Dan

Good Evening,
Onika I so hope that you consider doing what Dan has on STT. What a warm and noble gesture it would be for all people who have been in your situations in the past. Keep us posted and Thanks! Mark

I have actually been opening my home to people I have met through this site, but only on a limited basis.

I am a little nervous because you never know who is out there, but I do remember what it was like moving here sight unseen without a home (and with dogs and cats to boot!), so I am eager to get started!

We are looking at a July start date for availability. And yes, we will take pets! Haha.

Will definitely keep you posted.

Onika,
Sounds great!! It is the wonderful cycle of living and learning and reciprocating. My friend and I will be coming down at the end of July, with no pets, and I would love for you to keep us posted as to the availablity of reasonably priced accomodations for a PMV. Thanks!- Mark

Dan,
My name is Elena Huston. I'm very interested in the availability of your guest room and have been unable to reach you.
I've been unable to PM you (it keeps saying "Danieljude" doesn't exist). I've also tried to email. Perhaps the junk filter got it. Could you please email me? clr4optn@msn.com

Thank you very much for all that you're doing!

Lena 🙂

Hello there. I am sorry about the delay in getting back to you. I did not have phone or Internet for almost 13 days. I am embarassed to say it also was my fault, not Innovative's! (I should have taken 'Creative Wiring 101').

I think I sent you an email, but if not please feel free to send me one at Affiliationllc@aol.com

Thanks again,

Dan

Hello there everyone again! I just wanted to let you know that except for the people booked in June and July, folks who have corresponded with me need to know there is a major change.

Due to being a late child, now in my mid-40's, I have run into that next step of life in terms of needing to support my parents. As such, the guest room will be 'out of business' for awhile.

Although I plan on figuring out a way to do this again, most likely this year, as of August, I will have a full house.

I sincerely appologize to anyone that this impacts, and know that there are other options that I can help to point people to. Please just drop me a note at Affiliationllc@aol.com and I will work with you to help get you set up.

Life transitions just seem to happen, and if we don't flex with them, something ends up breaking. I promised many years ago that my parents would never have to worry as they became elderly, and I am living up to that promise.

If this causes a problem for anyone, please write me at Affilaitionllc@aol.com (again) and I will get started on networking. There are a lot of good people out there, and I know a couple who would be more than willing to pitch in and help people transition.

Best regards and I will post again when I have created another 'transitional living space',

Dan

Dan - my guest room is full of kids (mine and my new husband's) and grandkids (my husband's) through late August, but after that it is once again available for PMV's. We're on the waterfront on the southestwest shore with lots of privacy and easy access to the highway. PMV'ers are NOT required to be in the process of purchasing real estate through me to be allowed to stay here! I just didn't want there to be any misconceptions about that.

Dear Alexandra:

I was hoping you would be one of the people to respond. Thank you. I have 'penciled in' several people for the fall, but they have not yet confirmed. My assumption is that at some point, they will email me, and I hate to let someone down. Being able to make a referral would help me to feel that in some way, I have helped others to find or learn what they need.

One of the women who stayed with me also said you were extremely open, and that you would help people who were in her position. Yes, you were her agent, but she said that in the scheme of things, should she have needed a place to rest her head, she felt she could count on you.

Thank you again,

Dan

PS: I will also let you know when I once again can open the door to others. I will probably being purchasing a studio condo on the water for this purpose. Just need to clear up some other busy-ness first!

The only studio condos I can think of on the water would be at Club St. Croix. That's a self-insured property, though, which makes them more complicated to purchase if you aren't paying cash in full. This island sure could use more (NEW) waterfront condos!
