Hey everyone. I am coming in may for my pmv and planning on staying at point pleasant on the east end. Does anyone have any comments on this condo? It looks really nice from the photos but I know that you can't always trust them. This message board has been really helpful, thank you everyone for your comments.

You should enjoy it. Fungi's is the little restaurant on the beach that's fun plus you can watch the iguanas there.

I have heard they have had some concrete problems there, so be sure to inquire about that. A LOT of units for sale in there which could be somewhat of a red flag.

I think I misunderstood your post as being a prospective buyer in Point Pleasant. As far as a place to stay, my wife and I have stayed there a number of times and we enjoy it there. The views, as you mention, are fantastic.

The concrete problem that you refer to is that they are modifying the stone steps to avoid slipping when wet.

A number of units are for sale because of two reasons. Prices have appreciated substantially in the last 4 years (tripled in some cases) and some owners want to make a profit while some other owners have owned from the beginning (1975) and because of their age have decided to sell.

Also, each condo is individually owned and maintained........as a result some units are more "dated" than others. However, many owners are renovating their units...we just finished ours.

Amyi: Don't worry....you'll have a good time there....suggest you request a Superior Suite on the top of the hill for a better view. At Point Pleasant the view is what it's all about.

You're coming on a PMV and congratulations on that! The Point Pleasant condos have rarely received negative reviews period. Enjoy! But just remember that you're coming here on a PMV so try to set aside the initial delight in situating yourself as a tourist and get out and about in the real world. Cheers!

The concrete issue I was informed of by an agent was not related to slippery steps, but I have no idea how widespread the problem was or what may have been done to correct it.

There was a foundation problem on one of the lower buildings about two years ago, but that was repaired. There's nothing else that I know of.
