Good evening:

Curious to know if the recreation marijuana use authorization has gone into effect, and if so, have recreational dispensaries been opened on any of the islands?

Thanks!

Not yet and it will probably be another few years before that happens. Keep in mind that the VI is a very isolated economy and those that control it are trying to ensure they control the profits from the newly opened pot market.

I'll bet pot becomes legal at the federal level before the first dispensary is opened in the VI.

But, it really doesn't matter anyway as pot is cheap, plentiful and easy to find or have delivered.

They ought to just leave it be since the current marketplace functions well and is very efficient.

St. John has a really nice new store that now sells recreational marijuana. We went 2 weeks ago, actually twice during our stay haha. It’s upstairs in mongoose junction and they have good quality thc flower and pre-rolls. https://www.virginabis.com/homepage/

Highly unlikely since its not yet legal to sell marijuana in the VI. Although the legislation has been passed, no licenses have been awarded under any category including retail store.

I call BS.
