Recs on places to stay?

Hi, there!
My husband and I just relocated to STX, and have friends coming to visit us next week. They are looking for a place to stay for a few nights on any of the three islands- perhaps around $100 per night- with a romantic, tropical type feel?
Any and all recommendations are greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
CG

Villa Margarita is very nice, and caters to couples:

During season, you'll be al little limited with that budget. You might be able to get a rate like that in town or with some of the less expensive hotel and b&bs. You may not get anything fancy but pretty much everything on this island is tropical. Cottages by the sea is my favorite cheap beach hotel, it has a great beach and full kitchens and the family that owns it is very nice. In town I like Caravelle Hotel.

If all else fails try asking for a local rate. You would have to book the room in your name for your friends and pay for it yourself and let them reimburse you.

I Like Hotel on the Cay! Big Bang for the Buck, After April 15Th the rooms are $110.00 per night + 8% Tax and a utility surcharge $2.00 per night. Close to everything, nice little beach, water sports stuff. My next choice would be the Divi, they run specials all the time.

You could check Ronnie's rates at Crystal Palace on St. Thomas. They'd probably enjoy it. Islandview Guest House on St. Thomas is OK with a great view. Friends just stayed overnight. Not fancy.
