Anyone ever used Sea Star Line out of Jacksonville, FL to ship a vehicle? Nearly half the cost of Tropical who has raised rates over holidays. Any feedback? Need to ship vehicle next month. Thanks

I'm pretty sure we used Sea Star brokered through VI Cargo when we moved down here. Pretty easy stuff. There are some hoops to jump through when you get here- pick up car paperwork at terminal, then get insurance paperwork, then to BMV for a temp permit, back to terminal to get car, then back to BMV to register it
DO NOT pack anything in the car. Our car was thoroughly rummaged. Jumper cables and flashlight taken from under seats and the " Jesus handle" in front of the passenger seat was broken- evidently someone thought there was a glove box.

We used them with no problem. The attendants were great and they even followed me to return my rental car.

Yeah I used them as well about a month ago, was very pleased. The car was 2 days late but that was during T.S. Rafael so wasn't their fault. All in all I was happy I went with them, Tropical was like double the price and their offices are right next to each other in Frenchtown. I would go with them for sure!

The sooner the better as during the weeks before Christmas they bump cars for Christmas goodies.

Thanks all for your feedback. Forgot to mention on STT. Plan to ship Dec 4th. Hopefully that will give em plenty of time if they bump it. 🙂
Recommendations for who can coordinate, pick up, and register for me? I need someone dependable, trustworthy and cheap. Is there such a thing?? O and who can operate a manual transmission in a jeep wrangler! ha Thanks

You could speak with Stephanie Scott-Williams at 340-775-0635. Her company is, "I'll Do It For You" which is an expediting business run by her and her family who take care of these sorts of things. I've used them for years and have always found them highly dependable and their pricing very fair.

And my guy is KJ's Courier Service. 340-771-2469. Both reliable and recommended.

I used Top of the line transport through Sea Star and they handled shipping registering car etc... We shipped out of port Everglades but had the option of Jacksonville which is faster... Very reliable ans all we had to do was pick up the and everything was done!

Thank You all for your feedback. Sea Star it is and I have a friend on island who is going to take care of everything before I get there. Can I purchase Guardian Insurance on line before the car ships? Does anyone know?

THANKS! That's really helpful. It seems like any people in here use guardian. Good company? We are trying to get insurance in place too.

We've used Guardian for years because they're ultra cheap for liability on used Jeeps. Can't really say much about them though, we've never been in an accident.

We just shipped our vehicles with Sea Star out of Jacksonville..they left yesterday. We used Logistics International. Speak to Meme. She is great to work with and you can ship household items in your vehicles as well with them for an extra $350. Quite the bargain. They are advertised on this site in the shipping section. We had friends that used them and recommended them to us.

At Sea Star they call a Taxi for you to get you to the airport...painless operation!
