OK, we received ours in July but I have a friend who is still waiting 🙁

Anyone else still waiting or does anyone have any suggestions for her (she really is in financial need like so many right now) - she has called 340-715-1040 many times and each time is told they are working on it, and the VI IRB Website where you used to be able to click the link for stimulus help/information no longer works (what a surprise)

Thanks everyone

Pia

A friend has gone in twcie to the IRB in person & they just keep telling her that all of the checks haven't been sent out yet. I suggested contacting Donna Christenson & if that doesn't work, the Dept. of the Interior. They have no right to hang on to Federal money this long.

I went in last week to check on mine. Turns out I owed a small amount, less than $200, in back tax and penalty, and that was holding it up. I paid the back tax and was told the stimulus check would be processed immediately. I'll let you know when I get it.

The process was painless. I took my documents and was in and out in less than an hour. I would reccomend going to the IRB in person and not trying to do this over the phone. Face to face is better.

Have not received my check but I did receive a letter asking for a copy of a SS card before my check could be mailed.

I do not mean to be a complainer, but after receiving my stimulus check back in July from USVI, I have just had a SECOND stimulus payment deposited by the Federal IRS! The local IRB revised my return by eliminating a self-employment tax payment, and required me to make a payment to the IRS center in Austin, TX. That office asked me to resubmit ALL my tax forms to them about a month ago. Now I receive ANOTHER tax refund and another stimulus payment - bang: right into my checking account!! Anybody have an idea what I can do with all the extra dough - guess I better not spend it too quick! LOL

Overstimulated! :@)

Ohhh, I'd hate to try to straighten out that mess, Antillean. If you do nothing, they'll probably getcha a few years down the road when you've forgotten all about it & slap all kinds of penalties on you. 😛

The local IRB took my stimulus check & paid 2002 taxes/penalties I already paid/didn`t owe!
So, I guess instead of stimulating the economy, i can only afford to stimulate myself!

Or, I could fight this, make 100 phone calls(& stimulate myself on hold) while loosing income playing their game(been there, done that, got no tee shirt).

I try very hard not to stimulate myself when i pass the IRB...but it is contagious!
I wonder why they have those hard, long, concrete poles in front, must be another way to stimulate yourself when your pockets are empty!

my check showed up in my mailbox yesterday. I was shocked it actually came through. Utterly stunned.

I finally got my check this week, and I filed on April 15. If they're going chronologically, they should be about finished.
