LOL, I didn't realize it was still open. That place really could use a makeover, great waterfront property.

Its a favorite hangout of friends of ours and if it a going away party for STIXX , where are they going to go hang out?
it is a great property.

i thought stixx was closed. would be nice if a great eating place would open upstairs. use to be a great place to eat. the view was perfect. miss the old stixx upstairs.

STIXX has been here for over 20 years. About 7-8 years ago, it used to be THE place to hang out -- it did far more business than the Brew Pub ever did. It used to open EVERY day at 11Am and stay open till at least 1AM, oftentimes later. It was always full, upstairs included.

In the last five years, tourism has taken a serious dive here and STIXX has simply felt the brunt of the blow. Bob, the owner, had to sell the upstairs portion to make ends meet. In the last couple of years, STIXX has been hanging by a thread, and it appears that the thread finally snapped. 'Tis a real shame in my opinion.

A lot of the old salts hang out there regularily. I bet they're really gonna miss it. I will too.

Maybe if it didn't look so much like a jail, more people would go there. I'm very familiar with the place, and even I think it looks very foreboding with all those bars and dark, dingy interior. I can imagine that most casual tourists take one look and keep on walking.

My thoughts exactly Bernie. I ate upstairs the on my first visit to STX in '04. Never ventured into the bar.

Yeah the bars are terrible. Definitely needs a major makeover. It should be a great spot.
