Yearasta how long were you off island. Congrats for being back a year. I really need to meet you guys. You were so sweet to daughter #2 over the Christmas holidays. She's pregnant now and is getting a little baby bump. I am hoping for a grandaughter. I am calling her tinkerbell. Tinker for short.

Trw, it was nice talking to you as well. If I can ever get out of this house and go out for breakfast I will come by the cafe.

JJ started camp on Monday. Thank God. He was miserable not going to school. He is having a great time and won the dance contest today. The counselors freaked out the first day because he had a hand full of gongalos and was making a habitat for them. I told them that I was fine with him playing with bugs as long as they weren't centipeds. Now a bunch of the kids are playing with bugs. Their parents probably hate me.

I have been feeling extremely fatiqued

greetings tammy...

if you are feeling fatigued and you do not mind using herbs, here is a suggestion....

Angelica…1 part
Vitex…2 parts
Wild Yam…3 parts
Raspberry Leaf…4 parts
Horsetail…2 parts
Nettle…2 parts
Don Quai…2 parts
Motherwort…2 parts
Burdock…3 parts

after mixing the dried herbs, use the amount you would to make a cup of tea, steep them and drink....up to three cups a day...you can sweeten with honey. store herbal mixture in an airtight container.

you can also mix the following essential oils with a good grade of olive oil....in a clean 1/2 pint jar or bottle, measure out the following oils and then fill to top with the olive oil....let the oil sit at least three days. use on pressure points, the dent in the back of your neck, your temples and the crown of your head. just rub it in.....truly, it works.....

3 pt lemongrass
2 pt clove
1 pt nutmeg
2 pt rosemary
1 pt fir
1 pt juniper
1 pt black pepper

hope you are feeling better soon

guidance

Can anyone backup a rumor about an Applebee's coming to the Home Depot complex?

I hope it's true, however, I heard that Home Depot was "on hold"...not sure if that was true.

Ok as I was saying I am extremely fatigued. Right at that part of the post I must have fallen asleep and posted before I finished my post. For the last 3 days I have been very dizzy and have had a headache and sinus pressure. I actually fell asleep while I was posting. Having a hard time even driving JJ to camp without falling asleep. Tuesday after camp I took JJ to his swimming lesson and heard another parent talking about him and his wife having some illness that made them dizzy and giving them a headache and it lasted about 3 days. Pregnant daughter keeps saying she is dizzy and I just thought well she is pregnant. So I guess we have some sort of virus or illness. Anyone else feeling this way? Please tell me I don't have some sort of mosquito fever.

No diagnosed Swine Flu here on STX yet. There have been several cases of flu-like illness, but they have all tested Negative for flu....so far.

Hey everyone - this is my first post on the boards My property manager sent me the link to this board and thought I would enjoy it. My husband and I own a home on the East End, St Croix. Life doesn't permit us living there full time yet, but we manage several trips every year. We rent it out as a vacation villa while we carry on life in Chicago. We have been vacationers, then homeowners on island for almost 25 years now and have many close friends who do live on island full time. Our two daughters have grown to love St Croix as much as we do and now make trips to our house on their own. I am never as happy as I am sitting on the deck of our house with a cold beverage at dusk after a great day with friends on a boat or on the beach. ANYWAY - just wanted to introduce myself. I can't wait to get to know everyone here and continue learning about my adopted home. Someday we will be full time residents....until then we do what we can from here. My prop manager also sent me the link to read the new constitution.....just the small snippets that I have seen so far lead me to believe that the Governor did the correct thing in not sending it on to the US Government. All this Native born stuff is really getting crazy. I remember all the debate before bringing the casino to St Croix and the devisiveness that it created then. I read someone's editorial recently that pointed out that only those who could point to the three native Indian tribes as their ancestors could call themselves ancestral natives. They are right. This kind of stuff makes me crazy.....and believe me, living in Illinois, we know crazy when it comes to politics. I think the VI government has nothing on Rod Blaogojevich. If I had one wish for St Croix it would be for people to stop breaking into my home the minute it is vacant, it is starting to really wear me down after so many years. I am starting to feel afraid when I am there which is the last thing I want to feel in MY HOME. Again, that should happen more in Chicago, not the VI. Hey - I can even buy Cruzan Rum at the local grocery store now......THAT is something to celebrate. Oh yeah, I enjoy spreading the legend of the jumbies among the un informed and have a wonderful collection of them here. People always ask "jumbo mom"? What's a jumbie???

I feel better today. Never felt sick. Only dizzy and sleepy with a headache and sinus pressure. Probably an ear thing. Who knows.

JJ will be turning 6 this summer. Sigh! He is growing up way too fast for me. We were trying to think of something special to do for his birthday. Since we will be in the states where he has no friends a party wouldn't be too much fun. He loves science museums and aquariums so I was searching on the internet and came across a dolphin research center in the Florida Keys. I called them and signed him up for a day program. He gets to spend an entire day with a dolphin trainer. He will learn how to prepare their food, learn hand signals and get to play with them in the water. Because he is so young we have to do it with him. I am so excited. We are also visiting a sea turtle hospital. I will let you all know how it goes.

Sista, thanks for the herbal tips. I use herbs back in the states. I haven't learned to recognize different plants here yet but I will keep the recipe.

Welcome jumbiemom. Is your vacation home shuttered up while you are gone? I hear of a lot of vacation homes being broken into. The only thing I can figure out is that the criminals know which homes are unoccupied. We never leave our house unattended. We either have a house sitter or a family member here at all times and the dogs are always here. Maybe you could find someone to stay in your home while you aren't there.

Vacation homes on all 3 Islands are broken into even while there are people occupying them--as are our own personal homes.

The bad guys seem to be hitting in the afternoons; 2 occupied homes in Judith's fancy were broken into this past week while the people were out for the afternoon.

Where are the parents when the kids come home with a new TV or laptop; don't they question it or they just enjoy the fruits of their kids labor?

dougtamjj,
Both my husband & I did not feel well about 2 weeks ago. Like you said, feeling dizzy and headaches.
We were shopping for a washer and all of sudden my husband said he felt dizzy so we had to leave the store. It was weird. Maybe the change in the weather. It was right around the time when it was trying to rain but didn't. Those very grey days we had. I felt very sleepy yesterday afternoon.
Glad you are feeling better.

Thank you margaritagirl I feel much better today.

We had one of those nearly perfect days on STX. We spent the day at a beach barbecue at Cane Bay with good friends and great food. JJ has turned into a fish constantly underwater and bringing me treasures from the sea. I was so impressed with the children.
From the toddlers to the teenagers all playing together and taking care of each other. A wonderful family day.

Tonight after we got home, showered and got JJ to bed I went out on the porch to read. I was feeling so good and relaxed then all of a sudden there were bright light in my face. Two police cars with search lights were going by and shinning their lights. They passed our house and went up the hill. I quickly locked all the doors in case someone bad was roaming around. What was funny is that my dogs weren't barking. They bark at everything. So after a while I went back outside and began reading again. After a few minutes I had bright search lights in my face again and the police went by. I have no clue what they were looking for but the dogs still aren't barking so I figure it is safe.

Good night all.

Tam

Last night hubby watched one of the Ace Ventura movies with JJ. I don't really like it when he watches movies like that but it is Daddy bonding time so I bite my tongue. Tonight I was correcting JJs speech as he is in speech therapy because he has a couple of sounds mixed up. He says o tay instead of o kay. So tonight as I was putting him to bed he said o tay. I corrected him and said it is not o tay it is o kay. He smiled at me and bent over grabbing his naked butt cheeks and and said it is o kay not o tay while moving his butt cheeks like they were talking. I swatted his hinney and said get to bed. I then complained to hubby and he fell out laughing saying ace ventura over and over.

Trw, I want to have a movie day. If I can get rid of hubby and JJ. Cannot watch a movie with the two of them in the house. They are rolling through the house making all kinds of noise or they want food or something. What did you think about 10,000bc?

I am grumpy today. Why would take too long to explain other that if you aren't born here or if you have any ties back in the states it is hard. Something is alway trying to drag you back and I don't want to go back.

For now the two hoodlums I live with are asleep so maybe I can watch a movie or read.

Blood Simple
Stranger Than Paradise

Gone With the Wind
Great Race
Patton
Top Gun
Red Dawn
Six Days Seven Nights
Indiana Jones
Star Wars
Waldo Pepper
just to name a few. We were seeing between 45 to 65 movies a year at the theaters but we are cutting back to save money.
