hey everyone, just got home from work, hey i got to meet a husband/wife/kids team today from this board, they came in for lunch so that was cool to meet more people from here.My last table was a lesbian couple down here from the states staying at sandcastle, very nice ladies, the one is an emergency room chaplain and i'm not sure about the other one but she has a cast on her foot, they're here for a week,i took them to plaza west and then back to sandcastle so they would'nt have to shell out 40 bucks for a cab, then i went to st tropez to see danielle but she was'nt in yet so i came home to do up a pork roast and the poolworks guy had done the lawn so it looks nice again, his brother is my guy/kid that i write about sometimes, the Hodge guy from wapa was on free speech this morning, lol i felt sorry for him,but hey you've got the job you get ALL of the citizen anger that goes with that fat salary you get, deal with it.

Fat salary? So the guy takes a pay cut from where he is working to come home and try and fix what has been screwed up over the years and they give him grief? Give the guy a chance. There is lots to do and here is no way in the near future that we will see relief.

i know that ronnie, but i'm listening to the rebroadcast right now,and he made the statement you don't smoke for 20 years, get lung cancer and then go to the doc and say fix it now, i agree with him,but he seems to be rather thin skinned,i'm just saying don't complain about the people that are complaining, they need someone to vent on and since you're in charge you get to be it,Morgan said his last home wapa bill was over 800 bucks, lol now how do you get an 800 buck wapa bill for gods sake, that sounds like whole house AC and a pool pump.Hodge did say that nuke energy is not an option here for us because there is no way we can escape the island if there is a problem,Ronnie i was glad to see Hodge come and bruno vega go away, but maybe just maybe the inspector general needs to go in and have a look around like they did at the hosp on STT,in fact it would be good to see them do ALL gov agencies

I wouldn't doubt that all the semi-autonomous agencies will be audited now! I had three house I was paying electricity on in '02 for a total of $1,800 per month for water and power. Today, after selling one of the houses, now I have a bill I am staring at for $3908.98 for two places!! I too am listening to the replay, and yes he does get short with people. Will chide him on that when I see him next!

So maybe the gov't should take those projected millions in income from the Capt. Morgan deal & pay their electric bills with it? Nah, it isn't going to happen. Bet those government offices aren't putting theit A/C thermostats any higher to save electricity. They don't have to, since they don't pay their bills.

the Hodge guy said that even when the gov't does pay that money goes straight to hess and will have no effect on our bills, the gov approved a 13.7 million buck payment and is just waiting for the senate to approve it,then wapa gets it and then it goes str8 to hess, from listening to man talk the last few months i really think he thought he was coming home to the strains of "hail the conquering hero" and "here i am to save the day" and then the awful reality of the situation hit him in the face,i feel sorry for the man it's one of those no win situations,no matter what decisions are made we will not see any relief for 5-6 years unless the feds start shoveling cash at hess or chavez gives us a break, just my opinion

Pretty much right on trw but I think he knew what he was coming to, he visited often and is informed.
Trade Don Buchanan of the Energy Office stated, at one of my Rotary meetings, that the Government needs to take the first step in energy conservation and most don't.

well i liked batman, heath ledgers joker was the best yet i think, they're going to hard pressed to find someone as good when they make the next one,i'd go see the movie again, the ex on the other hand fell asleep halfway through lol but then he'd had a few cocktails before we got to the movie,we had stopped at this redneck bar,you know the one with the guys that have hair still from the 70's and they generally have tattsand wife beater shirts and missing teeth, you just want to tell them the 70's called and they want their hair back,i had iced coffee's and he had beers, and then of course we had the "family with the baby"sitting behind us at the movie,ya know you have to be related to at least a quarter of the island and you can't find someone to watch your kid?

so Steeles got broken into a couple of nights ago so when the ex picked me from work yesterday we walked over and bought 50 bucks worth of homemade fudge to show our support for them, hahahaha, they're back in the restaurant business again with the bombay club, they are a very nice couple,as we walked down the boardwalk towards the gov parking lot i ran into one of my old drug buddies working as a waitress and she was so coked up she could'nt close her eyes to blink and this was like 3 in the afternoon, the drugs and booze are finally starting to take their toll on her looks, she's such a sweeheart and i wish she'd stop. When i got to work this morn Danny I our local raggae artist was having a press conference at Riddims across the street from the cafe, they were playing his new cd and i tell you what the mans lyrics are beautiful and he conducts himself like a very humble and true gentleman as does the man that owns Riddims,i wait on him everynow and then and he's very pleasant as is his wife and they have 2 beautifull toddler daughters. The next time you're downtown there is a stairway leading to the "watch your step"art gallery above the yellow house gallery next to riddims and across the street from the cafe,it must be a couple hundred years old but you have to go look at it, the middle of the steps have been worn down by foot traffic over the centuries and ferns are growing from all the corners and it just looks so old and cool.

Well we have been in the states one week as of tomorrow. We have been to all our dentist and doctors appointments, gone to Walmart and Target, gone to the movies and having JJs birthday party at Chuck E Cheese tomorrow. Hubby has been working 12 to 15 hours a day at our business and I have been working on the yard trying to make it look like someone lives here. Mom is still at my brothers and we will be going up to visit her next week. I miss her.

I bought JJ the movie Nims Island. He has watched it about 10 times. Great movie. Last night we were laying in bed watching it again and JJ whispered to me, "mommy I got to tell you something". He told me that he wanted to go home to his island and he missed his friends and the tears started. Just quiet little tears. I asked him who he missed and he said my crabs and snails and his animal friends in the ocean. I hugged him and told him I would take him to the zoo which he has always loved to do. He said he didn't want to go to the zoo because the animals were locked up and couldn't find their families. At this point I was ready to cry with him. I explained that most of the animals were born at the zoo and he just nodded and said ok after the zoo can we go home.

That says it all for me. St. Croix isn't perfect but it is our little piece of paradise.

SO glad you're not leaving St. Croix trw!! I'm addicted to this thread--and you provide us with the most information on what's happening on the island. Hope you and the ex can work things out. Hope to see you at Paradise when we get down. That's our favorite breakfast stop. Love the way they do the french toast... and everything else. I've sat in the front corner booth and stared at the buildings across from the cafe many times. They are very picturesque. I know what you mean about the steps. Thanks for keeping us updated on life on the island. (I still think you need to start a blog!)

Paula
