We are having the same issues with Walmart in Alaska. I order a ton of stuff from them every month, but this last order (about a week ago) they would not even ship some of there most basic items. Yesterday I put a bunch of things in my cart...bluejeans, a few shirts, a toothbrush and a few other common things and none of it would ship. I emailed walmart, there answer of course was "carrier restrictions". I joined Amazon as a Prime Member and I can find most of the things I order from Walmart, some are a bit higher in price, but with free shipping thats OK.

I doubt the governor's office would admit to that.

Rather than make an assumption, it would be so easy to call and find out.

Right. Cuz our elected reps ALWAYS tell the truth when asked.

Maybe it's all to do with approach and attitude. I can honestly say that over many years I've had some pretty major run-ins with government officials on diverse issues. I've always approached the people involved courteously and quietly to seek resolution. When all has failed and I've been given a total runaround, my very last resort has been to address the issue in writing to all the senators with copies to the local media. In only two instances has the last resort been necessary and quickly resulted in a resolution. In all others, resolution has been equally successful.

You're allegedly an attorney and thus surely as such know how important are documented facts along with delivery and diplomacy crucial to proving one's case.

For kicks I went and added diapers to my order. (no need for them) Went to checkout and they were the only thing in my cart that wasn't "restricted"......and of course I deleted the diapers! Would LOVE to know what's going on.

Response from Donna Christensen's office:
Thank you for your recent email to Congresswoman Christensen. We are aware of the issue but depend on additional information about specific cases to make an even stronger argument to Walmart. We have been in contact with Walmart and continue to work to resolve this issue. Thus far, Walmart’s response has not been satisfactory or acceptable so we are continuing to pursue this further. At your earliest convenience, please send us a receipt that you received for the items that are no longer being shipped to the USVI. We will be sure to keep you abreast of our progress.

Just placed an order last night with Walgreens.com for my multivitamins and supplements. Took my STX address just fine. $12.95 shipping with 2-5 day delivery. I'll see IF I get my order.

Walmart stopped shipping items in their 'HomeFree' program to the USVI and other territories (Guam, Marshall Islands, etc). You can still buy non grocery items but their definition of grocery items includes things like toilet paper and dog food. I just looked into a Barbie bike for a Christmas present for my 4 year old : no Barbie bikes at K-mart and they wanted $130 for a Dora bike. I ordered a Barbie Bike from walmart.com last week for $77 plus 97 cents shipping and received it THREE days later. I use a private mail box at MailPlus. I have been buying a lot of grocery and household items from cvs.com and shipping is free over $50. They aren't as cheap but they run 25% off everything at least once a month which is when I stock up. (Hope this info helps)

I was able to successfully checkout and pay as well. Let's see what happens now. I would like to know how it got fixed so I can send a thank you response. So, if anyone knows please advise. We tend to complain but never give credit for getting thing fixed.

Do your orders that went through successfully include grocery items that is included in their "HomeFree" program as brooksleann explained in her above post?
Toilet paper, paper towels, pet food, cereal and other food items?
