We need new lampshades and made the rounds of K-Mart, Home Depot and thrift shops. There is nothing to be had. Any suggestions? Hate the thought of trying to ship them over, laugh!

Traveler Tree is the one you are thinking off (I forgot about them).

Was just at Travelers Tree this past week. They only had a handful (maybe 4 or 5). And, if I remember correctly, only two that matched. They did have a few lamp shade covers, though. I need to replace 5 and I finally gave up. I'm ordering styrene tomorrow and redoing the ones I have.

Guess the STX KMart is different than ours here in STT. There is quite a collection of them over here.

Maybe K-Mart West has more than Sunny Isle. It usually has more as it is a bigger store.

We bought our lampshades at Kmart about a year ago. I do recall there were not many choices, but they were fine.

K-Mart does run out on a regular basis. If you take your old lampshade that may have mold, dust, etc., spray it down, either on your deck or sink, with Clorox, wait 5 min.and rinse completely and set out to dry in the sun and that lampshade can look as good as new.
Been there, done that, It works.

I do that with my light colored shades too, Alana. Last time I sprayed two with Zep Clear Shell to see if it would help. So far, so good.

This works well with moldy/dirty outdoor cushions too. Good to spot test tho but it seems to work quite well with outdoor fabric and doesn't "bleach/stain" them out while cleaning them.

Thank you everyone for all of the "lampshade advice" you are all the best. These old lampshades are the corrugated type. They are coming off the wire on top. I thought about taking off the "fabric" and using the wire and recovering them. Big job!

One small lampshade is floral and mildewed.

Yes K Mart Sunny Isle has some lampshades but just the smaller ones. Home Depot too. We went to both thrift stores.

We will be sure to look at these suggested stores

Thanks again!

Kris

How about crazy gluing the corrogated lamp shade back on frame or sewing it on in a couple of sections on the inside around the frame.
If you can wait, K-mart usually restocks. You just have to keep checking.

Thank you! That is a good suggestion! I can fix the shade but these are very old and look it. I didn't know if Sunny Isle K Mart ever had larger shades. Will have to look again!
