I have some people that are renting from me who are looking to purchase furniture. If any of you out there have some things you are selling or have any connections as to where they may purchase new or used furniture at resonable prices please email me directly. im4whs@aol.com
Thanks
Kim

Unless you are looking for a generic answer like KMart, we need to know which island!

Sorry, I don't read everyone's posts and try to keep up with who rents what and owns what!
There is the option of Home Again in Red Hook. They usually have a great assortment of pre-owned furniture.
For new , there are furniture stores all over the place. I trust and use Furniture Inn all the time. They are in Lockhart Gardens. I would advise to stay away from the guy across from the High School. Also be careful as he has satellite stores with different names around the island. One is in Tutu next to O'Henry's dry cleaners.

Curious as to why you would stay away from the guys across from the High School? I know there prices are a little high as I had to buy two stoves from them as they were the only ones on the island who had size 24 in stock and didn't have to order them and take 12 weeks to get them. They also were prompt on their delivery. What about the furniture place that is by the rent to own place up from Tutu...do they own that also?

He misrepresents what he sells, sells outdated appliances that would be out of warranty, fights and argues with customers when they complain. Things like that. I do not now all that he owns.

Check out The Island Trader every Thursday for house sales, etc. People leave island and sell their furnishings and appliances at bargain prices and most often in excellent condition due to the prohibitive cost of shipping anything back to the mainland. Also check the Humane Society's flea market, located at the Shelter in Nadir which is open for a few hours every Wednesday and Sunday (call 775-0599 for hours.) Cheers!

Ronnie, I only knew she was talking about STT because I've been following her progress with her rental since she allows pets so I was hoping she'd have some good tenants.

STT Resident is right about the house sales. There are some really good bargains to be had. Home Again is also good & keep checking back. You can also tell them if you're looking for something specific & they'll look for you & let you know.
