We have just completed renovations on a duplex with two units. Each unit has two bedrooms and one bath.
Both have BRAND NEW Stoves and Fridges. All new paint and new ceramic tile. We also installed 5 new ceiling fans in each unit. This is a must see. The view is to die for and the duplex is located on 1/4 acre of property so you have plenty of space to relax. Renting for 1200.00 per month with first , last and security. Pet friendly with additional security deposit of 200.00 to be give back after 6 months once you have been deemed a good pet owner. It is located 5 minutes from the Ritz, 10 minutes from Red Hook , 10 minutes from Tutu and 15 minutes to town.
Please email me directly and we can get you some photos and application sent by email.
Thanks
Kim

What? No rust on the refrigerator? I'm impressed. 🙂 Does sound like a good deal, especially for those looking for a pet-friendly place.

I tried e-mailing, but it wouldn't work...not sure what's wrong. I am planning a PMV on April 10th through the 21st. My boyfriend is already on the island living in a studio. If I get a job and make the move, we will need more space! Are you close to the VI Montessori School by any chance? Please e-mail with pictures at your convenience! 🙂

Thanks,
Mimi

I visited this place in person, and it is really nice and spacious. Everything is new and looks very professionally done. I wish it was closer to my husband's work so we could rent it ourselves.

sunnyd: Understand why your places haven't yet been rented as I did note your post about the "right applicant."

I've no doubt that a whole bunch of both potential newbies and current residents have been in touch with you and I've no doubt that you've exed out many- and I don't blame you one little bit. Just continue to bide your time.

Whether you live on site or not, you've obviously made an investment and you're looking for the "right" people as tenants. People who have a job and a work ethic, people who have verifiable references either stateside, here or both, people who have a vehicle, people who can withstand a background check and so much more, not to mention people who have the basic of first, last and security upfront!

Hopefully you also have an airtight rental/lease agreement in place?

The right people will cross your path eventually. Your apparent circumspection bodes you well. Cheers!

Thanks STT,
Yes we have been burried with responses but as of yet have not found the right person for one reason or another.
It is such an awesome place as Skertic has mentioned and she is a great person...just too far for her hubby to commute to the unversity everyday. I would appreciate it if you know of anyone looking to pass on the information.
We are currently living in the states and have a property mangers on Island to help us out with showings and such but am trying from here to help them in the search for someone who will love the place as much as we do.
Good Day
Kim

Thanks Jane...still looking for the right person...have tons of people calling and setting up appointments so hopefully this will be the last week it is empty.
Have a great day and I want to thank everyone on this board that has helped me by reading everything here over the last few years to prepare myself for out move...It has been a fabulous experience and am so glad I had this board to rely on. Now I just have to wait another 18 months until I actually get to live there!

I'm interested in getting more information and photos of your units. I am a single female professional who is anticipating a move aprox. 6-1-07. I will be employed full time. I have a Maltese who weights 4 lb. (she doesn't know she is a d-o-g. I can send a photo if you wish. I will be there to finalize the job details next week. Thanks.

RL,
You know what I mean....someone who doesn't have four huge great danes....four cars....5 kids.
It is just a two bedroom and plenty of parking for two units but 4 cars would take up all the parking and not be fair to the other unit. Have had some fantastic applicants but they really needed more space than me unit has.
Hasn't had to do with the people themselves as ALL them have been the nicest people I have ever met!

Okay. I know the way it is with folks showing up hoping for something else, even though they know it isn't!

No, actually it's the other way around...they show up and it's more than they expected and want the place but I don't want to rent to them because they didn't tell me the truth when I pre screened them, before taking the time to show them the units. Like telling me they have two dogs when actually have four. And like they have two cars and than they have four....get the picture.
