Random question- are bonfires legal on the beach in Judith's Fancy- i.e. by the old house where the surfers hang out? It wouldn't be on anyone's property.

Thanks!

Actually, was wondering if beach bonfires are allowed anywhere on island.

That house is a death trap tho, no? I often wonder what lies in that open cistern. *shudder*

I think you need a permit for a bonfire in general, but have never, ever seen or heard of it being enforced (unless you do something stupid like have it at Carambola). I was wondering if JF is different.

It's my understanding that no open fires are permitted. When in question or in doubt, contact the fire dept and ask them for a permit. I suspect they won't want to give one for JF, since (a) it's a long way from the fire house and (b) the nearest hydrant is a block from the gate (on the outside).
