Why does the orange "new" stay on the thread even after that thread has been opened & read? This started happening after the server upgrade. Just wondering.

Edited to add that the "new" goes away once you leave the site & come back.

I noticed that too, but found if I clicked on "Message List" rather than using the browser's back button to return to the list of threads that solved the problem.

Thanks! I'll try that. I've caught myself going back to the same thread if I walked away from the computer for a while.

I found that if I go to the bottom and click on the " mark all messages read" icon, it will not show up again.

If you click on a thread and then hit back the 'new' flag will still be there. If you click refresh it should go away.

If you use the Message List link when reading a thread to go back then the 'new' flag should go away.

A note about the Mark all Messages Read link; this will get rid of all 'new' flags and not just those on threads you have read.

Hope that helps.

PS: Only registered users see 'new' flags so if you are a non-registered user that reads the board you wouldn't see them.
