Hello,

I am moving to the Virgin Islands in St. Croix and am having a hard time searching for a seaworthy 40ft shipping container to purchase for pick up.

Looking for a reputable company to purchase from.

Ideally, I'd love to have it delivered to Berkshire county, Massachusetts but it may be a challenge due to the semi-remote location. Also, I need to store the container at a nearby location in the meantime while I search for a home to buy. So I am thinking to purchase a container in the MA, NY, NJ area and hire a trucking company to bring to my home.

Currently looking on Ebay but selection seems slim.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you.

Per recent reports, there is a worldwide shortage of seaworthy containers because of the backup at US ports.

Have you considered shipping two 20' containers? They may be easier to find.

Make sure you're bringing only what you need to live in the tropics. I shake my head at what I put into boxes that I'm still pulling out of my container. Just don't need that stuff anymore.

From my recent island shopping experience, if you need them bring new/newer kitchen appliances and sofas. All hard to find here right now at any price.

We still have lots of boxes of stuff we brought when we moved to STX 17 years ago that have never been unpacked. Now we're looking at them and wondering if we want to move them back to the mainland when we finally move back off the rock.
