27 cents/KWH in Aug 07; 33 cents now -- 33-27/27= 22.222222222% increase

That's for the Total cost; I don't have the actual cost of electricity separate from the LEAC

And there's the rub. The rate has not increased, but the LEAC goes up (and down) as fuel prices go up and down.

Huh...I don't have the gas price numbers but it sounds comparable to the change in gas prices since then as a percentage. Add in the fact that the V.I. government owes millions and millions they aren't paying which presumably has to be passed onto the individual taxpayer and it all makes sense doesn't it? :X

WAPA is telling their large customers that they should prepare to pay $0.50 per Kwh by this fall. Large users pay a slightly lower rate than residential customers.

Large as in commercial? Commercial has a higher rate than residential.
Edited to add that our condo pays more which I think is the commercial rate but I'll check what my workplace pays per kwh.

Large Users pay less per Kwh than residential users. They are buying in bulk. If a large user will be paying $0.50 then a residential will be paying even more. Currently we pay about $0.03 less per Kwh.
